Unfortunately, my son Ignacio, who is 38 years old and married with a one and a half year old son, was run over by a car on the 23rd of June last. This caused him serious brain contusions. The first prognosis of his doctors was that there was little hope of him coming out of this situation and nether did they predict anything positive with regard to the after-affects. They took him into the ICU and for 14 days he was in an induced coma with mechanical ventilation. The whole family went to se him every day. We couldn’t believe that this was happening to us, we were in a very distressed state and hoping for a miracle.
During these days we didn’t cease to pray for his recovery and we especially asked for it to Marta. We always carried a picture of her with us.
Once they brought him down to the ward his recovery has been exceptional, so much so that when 15 days had passed they sent him home.
Only those who have passed through something similar can imagine the suffering that one goes trough and the distressing situation of the whole family, parents, brothers and wife, who feel impotent and unable to do anything except pray.
We don’t know if Marta is responsible for the recuperation of Ignacio but we are sure that she has helped him and given us the faith that we had in his recovery.
Now he is still recuperating and we are very hopeful that the only thing remaining from what has happened will be a vague memory.
