Marta de los Ángeles,
Who could have told me dear Marta all the “action” that you had in store for us when I gave my testimony to the Archbishop!
On the other hand, knowing you like I know you, always tenacious, impulsive and persistent until you get what you want, I shouldn’t have been surprised.
I remember how your mother looked up towards heaven and said, “ My daughter, I know that you want to be famous, but not like this!” Its just that you drive us all mad, but what a great madness!
I imagine you storming God with you intercessions, etc. etc... and He, unable to deny anything to “the apple of his eye”.
When you fell in love with God and you surrendered yourself to Him until the end, your schemes changed and you wanted a more honest journalism among other things.
You quickly got down to work and it fell to the journalist of “Interviú” to publish the case of your assassination (or martyrdom). Some time afterwards he rang your parents to inform them that he was now working in the “Cope” (the radio belonging to the Spanish Bishop’s conference)and to put himself at their entire disposal.
Through journalism you also touched the hearts of those in prison. They learnt about you through the magazine “Interviú” and wrote deeply moving letters to your parents.
The journalist from an American television channel also has something to say. Taking advantage of a trip to Spain in order to tape the “EXPO 92”, (we still don’t know how they found out about your case) he interviewed and taped your parents in your home and later your mother found him crying in front of a picture of you, deeply moved.
The story of your love for the Lord reaches farther then all this. We only have to think of your friend who asked you for a boyfriend and is now in a Poor Clare convent, Dani who within a month went from being a rebellious and unbearable adolescent, to want to enter in the seminary and the convent of “Bernardas” who asked for vocations through your intercession and within a yearr three new novices entered.
It seems to be that the journalists and the young people are those who have especially caught your attention, and I’m not surprised because you were a young and modern journalist.
We know that you are keen to get to work and you always “put things straight” for those of us who the Lord has chosen so that we may be your instruments in this world. I feel in debt to Him and to you. My life has changed since the day that a drop of your blood by means of the communion of the saints fell upon me, making me fall in love with God and with you. I know that both of you are always with me and the least that I can do is put myself at your disposal to do what ever you tell me to do.
Marta, intercede for all of us, your parents and your sisters, our families and especially the youth, so that they may discover the road that leads to true happiness.
